Youth & Community Orchestral Workshop
It’s back! Following the success of our inaugural YCOW event in September last year, we are pleased to announce YCOW22 to be held over the weekend 9 & 10 July 2022.
The two-day intensive program of sectional and orchestral rehearsals alongside the professional artists of the Ipswich City Symphony culminates in a public concert on the Sunday evening (see below for a full itinerary).
YCOW22 is open to young people aged between 12 & 21years and community musicians of all ages learning or playing orchestral instruments and offers the unique opportunity to experience performing in a full orchestral setting.
Eligible instruments are: Flute, Piccolo, Oboe, Cor Anglais, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Bass Trombone, Tuba, Timpani, Percussion (including mallets but not drum kit), Harp, Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass.
Registrations open Friday 6 May and close Friday 3 June.
Cost of $80 per participant covers all music & workshops with our professional players and light morning & afternoon teas both days.
Participants need to provide their instrument, lunch for both days and black attire for the concert performance.
Ipswich City Orchestras is a volunteer, not-for-profit organisation, and we hope participants and their families will join us on the Saturday evening for a fundraising sausage sizzle and opportunity to socialise with other like-minded musicians and families.
The Workshops and Public Performance will be held in the Performing Arts Precinct of West Moreton Anglican College, 8 Keswick Road, Karrabin 4306.
*Musically advanced (equivalent AMEB Grade 4 or above) children aged 10 and 11
years may be considered, please contact us at admin@ipswichcityorchestra.com.au or 0421 444 730 during
business hours.
Please note that Ipswich City Orchestras reserves the right to make audio and visual recordings of the workshops and performance to be used in the conduct of The Association’s activities in perpetuum. Associated waivers and permissions form part of the registration process.
