Our Orchestra
The Ipswich City Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2004 by the late Gemma D’Aubbonnett. Our original orchestra performed under the baton of the late Derek Taylor MBE. Major Taylor was previously the Band Master of The Queen’s Royal Lancers and Director Of Music at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst the United Kingdom.
We are now an Incorporated Association with our Senior Orchestra and the developing Ipswich Youth Orchestra.
We are a full Symphony Orchestra engaged in performances as such however we also provide a wide range of musical services to the South East region of Queensland. These include string trios, quartets and individual musicians. To engage our orchestra or its members please visit here.
